We had the pleasure of hosting to a dance workshop with Priya Pawar in collaboration with the Indian Welfare Society of Norway, in connection with our project Jalwa: Reflections of Punjab.

The Indian Welfare Society of Norway and the DSV Network invite you to a free workshop in Kathak dance with Priya Pawar. The workshop is held in connection with Jalwa: Reflections of Punjab, a play presented on the Opera, 30 and 31 January. Kathak is the premier classical Indian dance style of North India. Kathak comes from the word katha meaning storytelling. The dance is developed from dramas in ancient India, from temple to court, from religious content to the world of entertainment. Today Kathak is known for its beautiful use of rhythm and movement.
