Nytt talkshow med Abdi: Velkommen til TrAP Talk!
What is it really like to be young and working in the arts and culture scene in Oslo today? We will explore this in our brand new project: TrAP Talks, a monthly talk show hosted by Abdirahmaan Hasan, known as Abdi.

What is TrAP Talks?
TrAP Talks is a new series of conversations that gives young cultural workers in Oslo a platform. Here, personal experiences, challenges, victories, and frustrations are shared openly, with low shoulders and high ceilings. Host Abdi has extensive experience in the field, with a background from Fotogalleriet, Ultima, Kunsthall Oslo, Kloden Theater, and the National Theater, among others.
With TrAP Talks, we want to create a safe meeting place where young actors in the arts and culture scene can learn from each other and be heard – for real. Each talk will raise new topics, selected by Abdi in collaboration with the target audience, so that the conversations feel both current and relevant.
“Panel discussions exist, but a regular program focusing on young people – that doesn't exist today. This will be a stage for young voices and a chance for institutions to listen with their notebooks at the ready.”
– Abdirahmaan Hasan, program host
Get to know Abdi
Abdirahmaan Hasan is 20 years old and studies applied computer technology at OsloMet. But behind his degree lies a poet, creative soul, and self-proclaimed culture kid. He has been active in the arts and culture field since he joined the youth council of Nøkkel til byen (Key to the City) at the age of 17, and has since worked with several institutions in the city.
“I went to Kuben High School, right next to Tårnet, and started sneaking into the communal lunches on Tuesdays. I learned an incredible amount from listening to the adults, but also from sharing my own experiences. Now I've become an official TrAP star – it feels like a long but educational internship.”
For Abdi, belonging and openness are important. He wants TrAP Talks to be a place where young cultural workers feel at home, dare to share, and can build networks with others in similar situations.
What can you expect?

✨ Inspiration—and a little entertainment thrown in for good measure
The topics will cover a wide range: from scholarship programs and curatorial roles to board representation and working environments. But one thing is certain—these are real conversations, with real people, about the reality of the cultural field right now.
“We are the future. If we don't have platforms like this, how will people know what we need? One panel discussion a year and free pizza is not enough.”
